CORPORATE

Collection

Related Group boasts an expansive art collection, consisting mostly of international contemporary art. Currently at over 500 objects, the collection is in constant flux as works are continuously being acquired and placed within multiple projects. The pieces in the collection, including drawings, paintings, sculptures and installations, range in scale from intimate to large format.

The collection’s acquisition program also echoes Miami’s identity as a meeting place for art and artists from around the globe. It includes works by world-renowned artists such as Alex Katz, Frank Stella, Sol LeWitt, Ellsworth Kelly, Candida Höfer and Thomas Houseago. Recent acquisitions include two-dimensional works by Hugo McCloud, Carlos Bunga, Glenda León, Dan Rees and Sam Falls, as well as installations by José Carlos Martinat and Fernanda Fragateiro.

Reflecting South Florida’s cultural diversity, Related Group has significant holdings of art by many contemporary artists from Latin America. Over the years, we have supported emerging artists from various regions such as Agustina Woodgate (Argentina), Ximena Garrido-Lecca (Peru), Gonzalo Fuenmayor (Colombia), Carlos Huffman (Argentina), Gabriel Acevedo Velarde (Peru) and Omar Barquet (Mexico), among others, as well as mid-career artists who have achieved international acclaim such as Jose Dávila (Mexico) Los Carpinteros (Cuba), Enrique Martínez Celaya (Cuba/USA), José Bedia (Cuba), Moris (Mexico), Carlos Garaicoa (Cuba), Matías Duville (Argentina), Ray Smith (Mexico/USA), Liliana Porter (Argentina) and Vik Muniz (Brazil), to name a few.

SITE-SPECIFIC INSTALLATIONS &

Public Art Programs

In addition to the curated selection of art within many projects , Related Group’s art strategy extends far beyond a building’s walls. Related is a firm believer in the merging of art and architecture, and supports this belief through a strong commission-based art program. Commissions range from exterior murals and sculptures to monumental lobby installations. Artists and projects are selected based on a curatorial vision that seeks to unify the artistic selections with the architectural and design inspiration for each space.

Commissions such as elevator lobby murals by German painter Markus Linnenbrink for Marea, gates designed by José Bedia for One Ocean, a mosaic tile wall mural by Michele Oka Doner at Apogee Beach, a large-scale painted mural by Fabián Burgos spanning the facades of SLS Lux and Brickell Heights and an exterior painting and sculptural installation by Jaime Gili for Baltus House are just a few examples of the ways in which Related Group is integrating art into projects.

Related Group not only provides residents with the unique opportunity to be surrounded by artwork, but is also committed to enhancing neighborhoods and cities with art for the enjoyment of the entire community. Installing large-scale piecesfor public viewing has become a company hallmark. Monumental sculptures by some of the most widely recognized living artists, including Fernando Botero, Jaume Plensa, Pablo Atchugarry and Julio Le Parc, grace some of Miami’s most transited thoroughfares.

“Art is a form of expression and an exchange of cultures and ideas conveyed via an aesthetic experience. By commissioning and placing artwork by leading international contemporary artists in every project, my hope is to create spaces that are not only beautiful but inspirational.”
