The rehabilitation of Mary Bethune High-Rise Apartments is a special part of the West River Master Plan developed in partnership with Tampa Housing Authority. With grand, ceramic art mosaics on the building exterior and an abundance of natural light, the interior is just as beautiful as the exterior. The eight-story complex features 160 affordable apartments for active seniors within a rehabilitated structure featuring impressive new interior and exterior finishes. Residences include impact-resistant windows, new cabinetry with granite countertops, modern energy star appliances and plumbing fixtures, and programmable thermostat and humidistat. Amenities include emergency nurse call systems, secure keypad entry, two elevators, central laundry facility, spacious fitness center, theatre, grand community center with community kitchen and ongoing programming, landscaped gardens, bike racks, turf lounge with shade structures and benches to enjoy the outdoors and a dog park.
